Honda announced Thursday that it plans to recall 1.35 million of its subcompact cars Fit due to headlight wiring issues. The headlight issue can prevent the low beams on the vehicles to not work.

According to a Honda statement the recall is due to a problem with the routing of the wiring harness for the headlight control switch. With repeated use the headlight control switch can become warn. The warn plating on the wiring harness, according to Honda can result in corrosion, which can cause the connector to overheat and fail, causing a lower of low beam headlight function.
