Ford Issues Explorer Recall with Rear Seat Defect

This could increase the injury in the event of a crash and might not meet federal safety standards. The Ford Explorer SUV’s that are being recalled were manufactured between July 15, 2010 and December 13, 2010.

February 7, 2011 – According to reports Ford has issued a recall of their Explorer model due to an issue with the rear seats. Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 1,658 Ford Explorer SUV’s due to an issue with the second row seats.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration the recall affects 2011 SUV models that are equipped with second row seats that recline with a manual adjustment. The second row seats with a manual adjustment mechanism, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration might not provide the required strength.

This could increase the injury in the event of a crash and might not meet federal safety standards. The Ford Explorer SUV’s that are being recalled were manufactured between July 15, 2010 and December 13, 2010.

Owners will begin receiving letters for the Ford Explorer recall about February 14th and dealers will repair the recall issue free.
