Seattle Redline Bicycle Recall

The recall is due to a falling hazard that can occur due to the head tube that can spate from the frame. This can cause loss of control of the bicycle and fall, which could result in serious injuries.

According to reports from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Seattle Bike Supply of Kent, Washington there is a voluntary recall of Redline D640 bicycles of approximately 200.

The recall is due to a falling hazard that can occur due to the head tube that can spate from the frame. This can cause loss of control of the bicycle and fall, which could result in serious injuries.

The model number is located on the frames top tube and the bicycles were sold for approximately $900. 00 at bicycle specialty stores between December 2007 and May of 2010.

Consumers should stop use of the recalled bicycles immediately and contact the local Redline bicycle dealer for a free frame replacement.

There have been eight reports Seattle Bikes is aware of that the head tubes have separated from the frame. There have been four reports of injuries involving minor scrapes and cuts.
